Jean Nouvel’s MoMA tower reaches new heights in Midtown

The future supertall will top out at 1,050 feet sometime next year

Jean Nouvel's MoMA tower has made significant progress since we last checked in with the soon-to-be supertall skyscraper in September last year. At that time the building stood eight stories above ground, and now new construction site photos by NyConstructionPhoto have revealed that the condo is about a couple of dozen stories tall.

In 2018, the tower, now known as 53W53, will top out at 1,050-feet tall and have 139 condos. Sales on the project launched in September 2015, but there are still several units on the market. Among the available condos, prices range from $3.1 million for a one-bedroom and go up to $50.75 million for a four-bedroom spanning nearly 7,000 square feet.

Though construction started toward the end of 2014, we only got a peek at the future supertall in March last year. Since then construction has been moving along steadily at this Hines-developed building.
