Keeping track of all that's going on in Lower Manhattan has never been easier
It's hard to keep track of all of the new developments in the city, let alone one neighborhood, but a new mapping tool from the Downtown Alliance will make it easier to keep a handle on what's coming up in Lower Manhattan. The Alliance for Downtown New York has just unveiled a new interactive 3D mapping tool that doesn't only keep tabs on new construction, but also displays vital information for every building within one square mile of Chambers Street. In short, if you're interested in the changes coming to the Financial District, you'll want to bookmark this one.
LM3D, as the map is known, is updated daily with info on current and pipeline projects occurring in the area canvassed by the map. It also displays data from past years, making it easy to visualize how the neighborhood has changed over a certain period of time. The map isn't choosy about what it tracks—onlookers will find it charts projects of the retail, residential, and educational ilk, and also highlights transit, open space, and landmarks.
A short explainer video for LM3D is below, and the full map can be found right this way.
