OMA's Gramercy condo is getting its prismatic facade

One of the two towers that makes up this project is nearing completion

Just a few months after the project topped out, one of the two buildings that make up OMA's first ground-up project in New York City, is nearing completion, YIMBY reports. The buildings are designed by OMA partner Shohei Shigematsu, and the tower nearing completion fronts on East 22nd Street. The taller of the two fronts on East 23rd Street, and is now being fitted with its prismatic facade.

The Gramercy project features a total of 133 apartments, and the two buildings are connected at the base and will share a common lobby. Sales got underway in January this year with apartments asking from $1.5 million. Most of the apartments here are already in contract, but of the ones available, prices range from $1.4 million for a studio and go up to $5.99 million for a three-bedroom, according to StreetEasy.

The project came about after developer Toll Brothers City Living purchased the former Gramercy headquarters of United Cerebral Palsy for $135 million in 2013. Curbed had a chance to tour the sales gallery for the project earlier this year. Construction on the overall project is scheduled to wrap sometime next year.
