Upper East Side 'Versailles In Manhattan' returns with $25M price tag

The extravagant mansion is back on the market for the umpteenth time

Just when we thought the seventh time would be the charm for Upper East Side's opulent townhouse at 163 East 64th Street, dubbed "Versailles in Manhattan," the five-bedroom mansion is back with a new asking price. Common sense would have you assume that the price has decreased after so many tries on the market but nope. After dropping to $23.9 million during its last market stint in 2016, the house is seeking $25 million this go-round.

The home has changed brokerage more times than we care to count and now Charles Rutenberg will have its turn at attempting to unload the property, albeit with far less intriguing listing photos.

The Neo-Georgian house, owned by commercial broker Kenneth D. Laub, first made its market debut way back in 2008 for a whopping $35 million, but has fluctuated in price since. Who knows if this palatial mansion will ever find the right owner who will appreciate its 13-foot ceilings, eight marble fireplaces, and details in every nook and cranny of the four-story palace.
