Domino redevelopment’s courtyard, terraces revealed in new renderings

Get a peek at a couple of the rental building's forthcoming amenities

SHoP's doughnut-shaped building at 325 Kent Avenue, part of the massive redevelopment project of Williamsburg's former Domino Sugar Factory site, is gearing up to welcome residents into the Two Trees-developed project's first completed rental structure. Though an exact date hasn't been revealed just yet, the 16-story building is expected to open in July and the New York Times managed to get a few new renderings of its common spaces.

Leasing will get underway for the 395 market-rate units in June with prices set at $2,495 for studios, $3,250 for one-bedrooms, and $5,195 for two bedrooms, the Times reports. The building's 105 affordable apartments launched a lottery back in November 2016 that garnered a whopping 87,000 applications.

Renderings show what the building's sloping terrace along with the 2,000-square-foot inner courtyard will materialize into and we must say, it's quite nice. The courtyard will feature a narrow body of water surrounded by lush, verdant landscaping on either side. The apartments with private terraces will get to enjoy a view of the courtyard.

As for the building's other amenities, there is a fitness center, a 7,000-square-foot roof deck, a chef's kitchen for catering and events, and views of the East River and the forthcoming Domino Park, designed by James Corner Field Operations and set to open in summer 2018.
