Co-op at West Village's St. Luke in the Fields unveils a sprawling model apartment

The 12-story building has 33 apartments varying in size from studios through four-bedrooms

As the co-op building next to the historic Church of St. Luke in the Fields readies to welcome its first residents this fall, developer Toll Brothers City Living has now unveiled a model home at the 12-story West Village development.

This particular model home is a three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom unit spanning 2,415 square feet. The apartment was furnished by high-end furniture designer Ligne Roset, and features large windows and wide-plank white oak flooring.

"The building offers purchasers the rare opportunity to buy a modern, new-construction home with bountiful amenities in the Greenwich Village Historic District overlooking the Gardens at The Church of St. Luke in the Fields," David Von Spreckelsen, the division president of Toll Brothers, said in a statement.

Overall, the co-op building, officially known as 100 Barrow, comes with 33 apartments spread out over its 12 floors. Apartments at this Barry Rice Architects-designed building vary in size from studios to four-bedrooms.

Some of the common features you'd find in the units here, where interiors were done by Bernheimer Architecture, include floor-to-ceiling windows, nine-foot-tall ceilings, grey and black marble bathrooms, and kitchens fitted with Carrara marble countertops, and Gaggenau appliances.

Amenities here include a wine cellar with a tasting room, a fitness center, a steam room and sauna, a pet spa, and a lobby-level common terrace, among others.

The project came about in 2014 after the church made a deal with Toll Brothers to lease 100 Barrow Street for 99 years. Funds from the deal would allow the church to expand its school, and offer the developer an ideal residential location. Toll Brothers had to scale back its original plan before it received approval from the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission.

The building had essentially topped out in April last year, and that announcement was followed by the launch of the building's affordable apartments: there are just seven of them, and studios were asking from $90,000 at the time of launch. Sales on the market-rate condos got underway in May last year with prices starting at $4.7 million. Prices on currently available apartments range from $2.9 million to $13.3 million.

Toll Brothers has informed us that construction is 95 percent complete, so it certainly seems to be on track for its fall opening.
