The Tudor home in Jamaica Estates will rent for as much as $4,000/month
The modest Jamaica Estates home where President Donald Trump lived for his early childhood is about to become available once again—this time as a rental unit. According to Mansion Global, the 2,000-square-foot home will be listed with Jason Friedman, a broker who primarily works on Long Island, for "somewhere between $3,500 and $4,000 a month."
The two-story brick and stucco house dates back to the mid-century, and the Trump family lived there when Donald was still a baby. They moved by the time he was four years old, but that was long enough to give it some cachet.
As we previously reported, "the house first came on the market in July last year for $1.65 million, but no one took the bait. The price was lowered a few months later to $1.399 million, but that didn't work out at the time either, and it ended up on the auction block." The final sale price was $2.14 million.
Now, that buyer wants to get some ROI. According to Mansion Global, the new owner—who purchased the home under the LLC Trump Birth House—bought it purely as an investment property, and will rent it at what's considered market rate for the neighborhood. The house itself has five bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a patio, two-car garage, and a finished basement.
Neighbors might be pleased by this development; it wasn't so long ago that they complained about the overgrown grass and other signs of neglect around the Tudor home.
A listing has yet to appear, but once it does we'll update with a link and photos.
