This massive project will bring 857 apartments to South Williamsburg, spread out over three buildings
The Eliot Spitzer-developed residential towers on the Williamsburg waterfront have made significant progress, new construction site photos published on Brownstoner have revealed.
The project comprises of three residential towers that will each stand 22-stories tall (down from the previous 24 stories). The tower on the northern portion of this site is significantly more developed than the other two buildings, and in fact, as Brownstoner points out, that building is also being fitted with its glass facade.
Located at 420 Kent Avenue, this massive development is just south of another Williamsburg megaproject, Domino, and will bring 857 apartments to South Williamsburg. About 20 percent of these will be set aside as affordable housing.
Since Spitzer's company, Spitzer Enterprises purchased this site for $165 million, plans have changed a few times at least. Plans first called for two towers: an 18-story and a 22-story building with 179 and 270 apartments respectively.

The first renderings were unveiled in the summer of 2015, and by then the development had gotten much bigger. New renderings appeared last spring, and those will likely be the closest to reality. The buildings feature ODA's signature boxy, glass-enclosed look, but with this developments in particular, that design will ensure that about 80 percent of the apartments here will have corner windows, and many apartments will have terraces or balconies.
The megadevelopment will also bring 77,000 square feet of outdoor space to the area, along with a boardwalk that will eventually provide a connection from Greenpoint all the way to Dumbo.
