Houses that qualify for The Six-Digit Club don't hit the market too often in New York City, but today, we have an adorable exception. Though it's in need of some updates, this single-family, four-bedroom home in Ridgewood is asking $850,000—not chump change, but nevertheless under the $1 million mark.

The wood-frame home was built at the turn of the 20th century, and has tons of curb appeal thanks to its appealing ivory and green paint job, along with a lovely little front porch. The home is situated on a corner lot, and per the listing, there's a small backyard as well as a front lot, all of which are surrounded by an honest-to-God picket fence.

Inside, the home would need a bit of work: though the brokerbabble promises that "all structural systems, including heating, plumbing, electrical, roof, siding, windows have all been updated for modern comfort," some rooms—the kitchen, for one, and possibly the not-pictured bathrooms—are a bit outdated. But there's also plenty of original detail that a buyer might want to hold on to, including pocket doors, millwork, and "original Victorian tilework" in one of the bathrooms.

A truly entrepreneurial buyer could also make some extra cash off of the on-site three-car garage, which the listing says could "provide about $750 per month total income." There's also an additional 945 buildable square feet, though if and how a new buyer might use that would remain to be seen.
