The mid-19th century townhouse at 407 Bleecker Street has been on and off the rental market for most of the past six years, and it returned this week seeking one of its lowest asking rents yet. Even so, the four-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom house does not come cheap. It's on the market for $22,500 per month, which could balloon to $26,000 per month for any sweet-toothed renter owing to its proximity to Magnolia Cupcakes, just across the street.

The townhouse's current owner, shielded by an LLC, picked the property up for $6 million in 2010 from a warring couple with dual restraining orders. To clear out all of the bad energy, perhaps, the townhouse's new owner embarked on a major makeover that brought the 1860s building its bachelor pad vibe. Oh, you're digging the staging? Sorry, the apartment doesn't come furnished, but it just might come with that zebra runner on the stairs.
