Rego Park’s dated Saxon Hall is rebranded as luxury rental The Drake

Leasing is underway for a quarter of the redesigned apartments

In Rego Park, a 16-story rental building once known as Saxon Hall has been reborn after a massive redevelopment. The building, located at 62-60 99th Street, has received a complete revamp following its record-breaking (for the neighborhood, at least) $135 million sale by Madison Realty Capital last February, reports DNAinfo.

The Drake, as it is now known, has launched leasing on 100 of its 420 redesigned rentals. The mix of one- through four-bedrooms boasts open-concept layouts inspired by "mid-century" flair and were designed by Crown Architecture and Consulting. Within each unit there are high ceilings, new wood floors, oversized windows, sleek kitchens with fancy Whirlpool appliances, and subway-tiled bathrooms with soaking tubs and separate showers.

As far as building amenities go, there's a pretty good assortment here. Among them are a "state of the art" fitness and wellness center, a laundry room, resident's lounge, a children's playroom, and a pet spa. Residents will also be able to rent additional storage space and there is free bike storage along with a parking garage (that likely isn't free) on the premises.

Four apartments are currently listed on the market: a one-bedroom, one-bathroom for $2,124/month; a two-bedroom, one bath going for $2,769, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom asking $3,415/month; and a four-bedroom, two-bathroom for $3,785. Leasing is being handled exclusively by Modern Spaces.
