Tribeca Film Festival co-founders now seek $25M for Dakota combo apartment

The apartment has been on the market for more than a year

It's not too often that apartments at the famed Dakota come on to the market—its notable residents, including Yoko Ono and Maury Povich, tend to hang on to their pads in the celeb-friendly, history-filled building—so when they do, we take notice. (It helps that the apartments tend to be eccentric—see Roberta Flack's disco ball-chic two-bedroom, still awaiting a buyer.)

This particular listing, though, is one we've seen before: The enormous combo unit, created by combining three apartments, is owned by Tribeca Film Festival co-founders Craig Hatkoff and Jane Rosenthal, and it's been on the market for more than a year now. After listing the place with Corcoran last spring, they've switched brokerages (it's not with Douglas Elliman), and have lowered the price; a new listing appeared today asking $25 million.

The new listing comes with a slightly smaller floorplan than before, but it's still pretty impressive: the unit in its current iteration has five bedrooms, an eat-in kitchen, a large living room, a master bedroom that's basically the size of a studio apartment, two wood-burning fireplaces, and per the listing, "160 feet of park frontage and Central Park views."

A buyer also has "the ability … to create an urban oasis," according to the listing, assuming there are people out there who'll spend $25 million on an apartment and an additional wad of cash on turning it into a dream home. But hey, stranger things have happened.
