Verona lands in Astoria, Queens with condos priced from $495K

The new condo replaces four low-rise buildings in the northern Queens neighborhood

For years, real estate prognosticators have been saying that Astoria would be the Next Big Thing in New York real estate, and while it hasn't seen a development boom on par with places like Williamsburg or Downtown Brooklyn, more and more apartments are coming to the Queens neighborhood. In just the past six months alone, two pricey rental buildings—the Academy and Graffiti House—have welcomed residents. Now, a new condo, Verona, is joining the mix with a sales launch today.

The 56-unit building at 21-17 31st Avenue is developed by Park Construction Corp., and replaces four two-story buildings between 21st and 23rd streets. The new seven-story brick building is designed by Meltzer/Costa & Associates and includes three studios, 52 one-bedrooms, and one two-bedroom priced between $495,000 and $1.3 million.

For that, buyers can choose their kitchen cabinet color (either gray or white), and get bathrooms with Italian porcelain tile tubs and in-apartment washers and dryers. The building will have the standard new building amenities, including a virtual doorman, a package room, cold storage, bike storage, a gym, parking, and a communal roof deck with grills.
