Extell's Midtown supertall, Central Park Tower, is getting its facade

There's still a while to go before this supertall nears completion

Portions of Central Park Tower are now being fitted with its glass facade, new construction site photos by NyConstructionPhoto have revealed. The building's height doesn't look all that much changed since we last checked in with this project in August, but the facade work is making swift progress.

Work on the Nordstrom base of the tower has been moving along for some time now. That portion of this supertall will have a fluted facade, and we got a first glimpse of it being installed at the site in May.

Designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, this skyscraper will eventually soar to 1,550 feet, making it the second tallest building in the United States after the One World Trade Center, and the tallest residential building in the world, surpassing Rafael Viñoly's 432 Park Avenue.

The Extell-developed tower is yet to launch sales, but we got a peek at floorplans and rumored prices in July, and yes they're exorbitant. Extell hasn't released a completion date for the project, but by the looks of it, it will be another year at least.
