Gowanus townhouse seeks $4M after Pinterest-worthy renovation

Carrara marble, splashy colors, and alluring patterned floors dot this Gowanus townhouse

The $4 million townhouse has creeped from Carroll Gardens and Park Slope to Red Hook. And now, it claims another neighborhood: Gowanus.

A gut-renovated townhouse at 191 8th Street, between Third and Fourth avenues, just hit the market for $3.89 million, touting amenities and finishes that would make any home-obsessed Pinterest user proud.

The townhouse has been redesigned by Brooklyn-based firm Lyons Studio, and has been divided into an owners triplex and ground-floor lock-off (or, as the listing suggests for Brooklyn 2017, a playroom.) Solid white oak plank flooring extends through much of the house, lending a particular airiness to the living room where the original brick fireplace has been painted white.

The separate kitchen has a grabby patterned tile floor, and boasts a Calacatta marble backsplash, quartz Caesarstone countertops, high-end appliances including a Wolf range and a concealed vent hood, and splashy blue base cabinets. The kitchen overlooks the townhouse's 52-foot-deep garden and graciously sized patio.

The second floor gives way to three bedrooms (one of which at just seven-feet wide by 10.5-feet deep may be a better office) as well as a bathroom with a dual-sink vanity and a laundry room.

The third floor is devoted to the master suite, and includes an office (or huge walk-in closet) topped by a skylight, a dedicated walk-in closet, and a sunny bathroom with a dual-sink vanity, freestanding porcelain tub, and glass-enclosed shower.

The townhouse is on the market with Kimberly T. Hastie at Halstead.
