If you're not up to venturing out, here's how you can catch up on all the action
Today, thousands of ambitious runners will embark on a grueling 26.2-mile course as they tackle the annual TCS NYC Marathon. The first wave of runners will take off at 8:30 a.m., beginning in Staten Island and making their way through each borough before ending at the southern end of Central Park.
The official marathon website has put out a detailed spectator's guide, but if you're not really feeling the motivation to cheer alongside flocks of people, you can watch the parade from the comforts of your own home.
ABC7 will broadcast live coverage of the marathon from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. while the channel's website will livestream the entire race. There will also be a livestream on ESPN's WatchESPN app. Runner's World will be offering commentary on Twitter.
Here are start times for the different categories of racers:
8:30 a.m.: Professional Wheelchair Division
8:52 a.m.: Achilles Handcycle Category and Select Athletes with Disabilities
9:20 a.m.: Professional Women
9:50 a.m.: Professional Men & Wave 1
10:15 a.m.: Wave 2
10:40 a.m.: Wave 3
11 a.m.: Wave 4
