In Greenwood, a chic, gut renovated townhouse hits the market for $2.5M

It's the first of four townhouses listed as part of the 5th & Green development

The first home of a four townhouse development project has hit the market in the south Brooklyn neighborhood of Greenwood. Known as 5th & Green, it's a collection of four townhouses completely gut renovated, expanded and redesigned. The developer, Brooklyn-based FABR Studio + Workshop, calls the project "a marriage of art, architecture and creative contemporary design."

The first townhouse, at 816A 5^th Avenue, has been listed by Corcoran for $2.5 million. It's got three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, a cellar, parking spot and an "urban farmhouse" design, in the words of the architects. That means finishes like exposed concrete, hand-troweled cement stucco, mosaic tile, white oak railings, Ipe wood decking and custom doors and hardware.

The goal was to incorporate plenty of green elements throughout the townhomes, given their proximity to Green-Wood Cemetery. Windows frame views of trees and hills, while outdoor areas within the townhouse were creatively landscaped. There's also a "green interstitial space" weaving through the exterior elements of each building.

The price tag is ambitious for Greenwood, whose next most expensive townhouse is asking $1.648 million. (It's a two-family with development rights, and has been gradually price chopped down from $1.799 million.) Pricing for the other three townhouses have yet to be released, but they're "coming soon," according to the website.
