It's being rented out by a member of the Strokes
A Nolita condo boasting a list of celebrity owners past and present, is now up for rent. It's located at 354 Broome Street, a 37-unit residence converted from an ice house that's at the crossroads of Soho, Nolita, and the Lower East Side.
Back in the early 2000s, a one-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment here was purchased by artist Ryan McGinness and his Corcoran broker wife, Trish Goodwin. In 2009, the pair sold the pad to Victoria's Secret model Maryna Linchuk for $1.1 million. (Check out the underwhelming apartment interiors at the time here.)
At some point down the line the apartment was completely renovated, with many of the building's original, more lofty details incorporated into the interior. In 2012, Linchuk sold the pad to Albert Hammond Jr., a musician best known as a guitarist for The Strokes, for $1.25 million. According to public records, he's still the owner.
Now Hammond is seeking a new resident—celebrity or not—to rent the place for $8,000 a month. The listing for the 1,033-square-foot pad is through Compass. The description details exposed brick walls, the building's original columns, and northern exposures. The kitchen got a major renovation, as did two bathrooms that now come with heated floors. Other perks included separate dining and office areas, multiple walk-in closets, a built-in sound system, and central air conditioning.
The condo comes with a doorman, bike room, laundry room, live-in super, and a roof deck—along with those celebrity bragging rights if you're willing to fork over $8,000/month.
