Sleek, renovated penthouse at the famed Barbizon Women's Hotel asks $7.95M

The sleek pad is "perfect for what you need"

The brokerbabble for this "magnificent" Barbizon penthouse claims that it is "perfect for what you need." And while this particular $7.95 million penthouse is downright humble compared to, say, this even more magnificent $17.75 million Barbizon penthouse, which hit the market last year, it is still plenty magnificent, especially if your definition of that word tends to mean "very, very white."

An elevator opens directly into the full-floor home, at which point you step into the gallery. That gives way to either the living room—large, tailored, and white, with a terrace—or the library/dining room, which is also large, tailored, and white, with a terrace.

The dining room leads into the eat-in kitchen, which features an assortment of brand-name appliances, including a Viking stove and a separate wine fridge. It, too, has a terrace, which comes with a dedicated gas line for outdoor grilling, and connects to the first of the two bedrooms, for scenic East Side views, or barbecue in bed.

The master suite does not have a terrace, alas, but it does include huge walk-in closets (that's plural) and a large marble bathroom.

As for amenities included with your $6,022 in monthly common charges, you get a concierge, 24-hour doorman service, and private access to an Equinox fitness center featuring the original pool of the Barbizon Hotel.

There's no floorplan with the current listing, but one from a previous listing gives a sense of the space:
