What $5,100 rents in NYC right now

See what $5,100/month gets you in Midtown, the Financial District, Brooklyn Heights, and more

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a weekly column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various NYC neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today, we're looking at apartments renting around $5,100/month.

TNG Nassimi Realty.

↑ A 708-square-foot apartment overlooking the Hudson River in the Financial District is renting for an even $5,100/month. The one-bedroom is located in the W Hotel, and has oversized windows that provide views of lower Manhattan. There's also an ultra-modern kitchen with white lacquered cabinets and built-in appliances.

TF Cornerstone.

↑ A net effective rent of $5,072/month gets you this three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment on the Long Island City waterfront. The unit is designed with an open-concept floorplan and is equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, a Pullman kitchen, a washer/dryer, and a wraparound terrace with views of the Queensboro Bridge.

Bozzuto Management Company.

↑ In Midtown, just a few blocks away from the Empire State Building, there's this one-bedroom rental for $5,085/month. Floor-to-ceiling windows wrap the entire apartment and it also comes with wide plank oak floors, a sleek kitchen, and decent storage space.

Citi Habitats.

↑ A simple 1,100-square-foot loft is going for $5,150/month in the West Village. Though the listing description calls it a one-bedroom, the apartment—which is really just one large room—is more of an alcove studio. It comes with beamed ceilings, a walk-in closet, a decently sized bathroom, and a weird huge beam in the middle of the space.

↑ This 1,000-square-foot apartment in Brooklyn Heights, asking $5,095/month, comes with two bedrooms and plenty of charm. Its features include hardwood floors, arched windows, a modern kitchen with open shelving, and a skylight that crowns the apartment.

↑ And finally, on the Upper West Side, there's this sunny two-bedroom, one-bathroom with a flexible floorplan. Per the listing description, the apartment can be converted into a three-bedroom and comes with details that include French doors, a renovated windowed kitchen, and a washer/dryer machine. Rent is going for $5,075/month.
