Chrissy Teigen and John Legend buy $9M Nolita penthouse

The couple picked up the 2,600-square-foot penthouse in the same building that they owned a one-bedroom condo

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have moved back into the same building they left just two years ago. The Real Deal has learned that the couple recently put down just a little over $9 million to purchase the penthouse at the Brewster Carriage House in Nolita.

Previously, the couple owned a stylish one-bedroom apartment in the building, which they sold in 2016 for $3.9 million. Their new home in the building features three bedrooms and three bathrooms spread out over 2,610 square feet of space.

Some of the standout features of this penthouse, according to the Douglas Elliman listing, are the 13-foot-tall ceilings, the gas fireplace in the living room, the oversized windows, the stylish kitchen that comes fitted with Miele appliances, and the marble master bath that comes with a separate soaking tub and shower.

The penthouse also has a massive roof garden that's accessed through a copper railing staircase in the living room. This 1,800-square-foot terrace has plantings, an outdoor kitchen, and a sound system.

The penthouse purchase follows reports from December last year that the couple toured the apartment, and were looking for a more permanent home in NYC again. The penthouse's previous owner purchased the pad for $8.62 million back in 2016.
