If you've never heard of Manhattanhenge, it's that special occurrence when the setting sun aligns perfectly with the Manhattan street grid, creating a stunning, unique sunset.
The American Museum of Natural History has revealed this year's dates for Manhattanhenge, giving you plenty of time to plan accordingly. On Tuesday, May 29 at 8:13 p.m. you can catch the half sun on Manhattan's grid, but on Wednesday, May 30 at 8:12 p.m., the entire shebang will be on display. And if you miss it on the first go-round, Manhattanhenge will return on July 12 and 13.
The best spots to catch Manhattanhenge are on wide streets like 14th Street, 34th Street, 42nd Street, 59th Street, and 79th Street. You can also head to the Tudor City Bridge on 42nd Street, but get there early if you want to snag a good spots.
