Marisa Tomei lists elegant Greenwich Village pad for $7.5M

The Academy Award-winning actress has called an Emery Roth-designed building home for years

Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei is parting ways with her longtime Greenwich Village apartment: The actress recently listed her two-bedroom, two-bathroom co-op for a cool $7.5 million. It's located within an Emery Roth-designed building that's attracted many a big-name resident over the years; past and present residents include Cameron Diaz, Jimi Hendrix, Isaac Mizrahi, and Bebe Neuwirth.

The 2,265-square-foot space is actually a combo pad; according to an 2016 interview with Elle Decor, Tomei initially bought one of the units, and snapped the other one up when a neighbor moved out. "In New York, when an opportunity like that comes along, it's like winning the lottery," she told the magazine. "Who could resist?"

What followed was, by her account, a costly and overwhelming renovation that ultimately led to the large, lovely apartment seen here today. What was once a living room is now the master bedroom, with a wood-burning fireplace, 200-square-foot walk-in closet, and a terrace; the "great room" itself—which also comes with a wood-burning fireplace—is also huge, with oversized windows to boot.

And while Tomei furnished much of the place herself, she also brought on interior designer Alexandra Hayden to give the place some extra pizzazz, like new mantles and and a muted color palette. The resulting space is elegant and eclectic—but we'll let you be the judge of whether it's worth $7.5 million. Corcoran's Frank Castelluccio has the listing.
