The two-bedroom penthouse is like a small ranch house on a roof
Williamsburg's Mill Building has gotten its fair share of ink over the years—for its industrial-chic apartments, for its famous residents (well, resident—model Agenyss Deyn, who moved out of her pad in 2012), and for its quirky rooftop cabanas, which accompany the building's penthouses.
It's the latter we're concerned with today, since a penthouse in the former industrial building recently hit the market for $2.85 million. It doesn't exactly come with a rooftop cabana; instead, the whole penthouse is a cabana, complete with its own private terrace and deck. The effect is not unlike plopping a ranch house atop a warehouse—and somehow, the whole thing works.
The apartment itself has two bedrooms, with the possibility of converting a smaller space into a third, along with two bathrooms (one en-suite to the master). The common area, encompassing a living and dining room along with the kitchen, is pretty big, and—best of all—opens right onto the expansive terrace. Skyline views are just one of the perks of that space; it also has enough room for several entertaining areas, along with an outdoor kitchen.
Vaulted ceilings, a chic kitchen, and custom details (including California closets and large soaking tubs in both bathrooms) lend the space some pizzazz; it also comes with its own private parking spot.
Compass's Mat Gundell is repping the sellers, and there's an open house on Sunday, May 13, at 2 p.m. should you want to check this unique space out for yourself.
