Two affordable housing lotteries in Crown Heights will offer 48 rentals

Both buildings are located on Saint Johns Place just a few blocks apart

Two new affordable housing lotteries will launch in Crown Heights this week and offer up a total of 48 apartments. The first set of affordable rentals are part of a large mid-block development on Saint Johns Place. The building, at 564 St. Johns Pl., has a total of 40 affordable units up for grabs from $1,080/month.

The building has a mix of one and two-bedroom units, and the apartments are open to those making anywhere between $37,029 and $62,580/year, depending on the unit type and family size.

Overall the project—which has been dubbed the Frederick Olmstead—has 193 apartments, with rents on the market-rate units starting from $2,450/month for a studio. Rents here go as high as $4,594/month for a two-bedroom, one-bathroom unit.

Residents in the building also have access to a host of amenities, though residents in the affordable units have to pay an extra fee for certain amenities. These amenities include a rooftop terrace, a pet room, a parking garage, a private party room, a garden, a fitness center, and a yoga room, among other features.

564 St. Johns Pl. was designed by Karl Fischer and developed by the Rabsky Group. The second affordable project is located at 806 St. Johns Pl. and has just eight apartments with rents on one and two-bedrooms at $2,153/month and $2,347/month. Those apartments are open to people making 130 percent of the area median income, which translates to anywhere between $73,817 and $135,590, depending on the family size. Residents in this building have access to a gym, laundry, and parking.

Prospective tenants at 564 St. Johns Pl. have until July 24 to apply, and the final date for 806 St. Johns Place is June 13.
