Argo Residential.

↑ In Queens's Briarwood neighborhood, a spacious one-bedroom is asking $1,525/month. There are no frills to this place, but it has a decent-sized kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a sizable bedroom. The nearest train station is about a 10-minute walk away, where you can catch the E and F.

Esra Realty.

↑ This 450-square-foot studio in Hamilton Heights is renting for an even $1,500/month. There are hardwood floors, large windows, and a small windowed kitchen with a fair amount of cabinet space (not much in the way of counter space, though).

Bohemia Realty Group.

↑ This small and simple Harlem studio is going for $1,550/month. The light-filled space includes a tiny kitchen, hardwood floors, and a windowed bathroom. A caveat: The building appears to be a five-story walk-up and the apartment looks like it's close to the top.

Voro New York

↑ In Jackson Heights, a junior one-bedroom wants $1,500/month. Its layout includes a modest living room, an eat-in kitchen, and a sizable bedroom. It's located in an elevator building with an on-site laundry room, but that's about as far as the frills go.

↑ A 760-square-foot one-bedroom in Midwood is going for $1,475/month. The space has a light-filled living room, a kitchen with two windows and plenty of wood cabinetry; hardwood floors, and a decent amount of closet space.

↑ And finally, a 500-square-foot studio in Bed-Stuy with a revamped kitchen and bathroom wants $1,550/month. The unit is located in a townhouse on Hancock Street and gets a good amount of sunlight. The Utica Avenue stop for the A and C is about a 10-minute walk away.
