South Bronx passive house launches affordable lottery on apartments from $702/month

There are 107 affordable studios, one-, two-, and three-bedrooms up for grabs

A new residential development is taking shape in the Bronx's Melrose neighborhood and with it comes 107 affordable apartments that just hit the city's affordable housing lottery. The development, named Park Avenue Green, is located at 2980 Park Avenue and per 6sqft, is being designed by Curtis + Ginsberg Architects.

The 154-unit development will stand 15 stories tall and is being constructed to meet passive house standards. The affordable apartments are a mix of studios through three-bedrooms that cater to individuals and families that earn either 50, 60, or 80 percent of the area median income. Rent prices go from $702 to $1,044/month for a studio; between $753 and $1,314/month for a one-bedroom; $910 and $1,584/month for a two-bedroom; and from $1,045 to $1,823/month for a three-bedroom.

Among the amenities within the building are a community room, a laundry center, bike parking, and facial recognition software for building access.

The deadline to apply is August 17.
