What $4,750 rents in NYC right now

See what you can rent in neighborhoods like Midtown East, West Village, and Red Hook

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a weekly column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various NYC neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today, we're looking at apartments renting around $4,750/month.

↑ First up, for an event $4,750/month, is this 650-square-foot apartment in Midtown East with views of the skyline and the St. Patrick's Cathedral. Other highlights of the one-bedroom spot are floor-to-ceiling windows, a modest-sized eat-in kitchen, sliding doors that section off each room, and three closets.

↑ Rent this corner two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in Long Island City, with beamed ceilings and panoramic views of the skyline, for $4,795/month. The open kitchen is equipped with lacquered cabinets and stainless steel appliances, while both bedrooms provide ample space.

↑ A railroad-style one-bedroom, located in a West Village townhouse, is going for $4,750/month. The space is pretty low-frills but does offer some nice finishes like exposed brick walls, what looks like original wood floors, and a decorative fireplace. ↑ In Boerum Hill, a two-bedroom, two and a half bathroom duplex, encompassing 1,500 square feet, wants $4,800/month. It looks like there might be a peculiar layout in place (peep the slanted floors that separate the kitchen from the living/dining area) but it does come with backyard access. Other perks include a washer/dryer and lots of sunlight throughout.

↑ Another duplex, this one located in Greenwich Village, is looking to rent for $4,800/month. Plenty of nice details are in place within this one-bedroom, ranging from a spiral staircase, high ceilings, a decorative fireplace with a marble mantle, and hardwood floors.

↑ Last but not least, a three-bedroom, two and a half bathroom home in Red Hook, measuring an impressive 2,875 square feet of space, wants $4,700/month. The industrial-chic space is a triplex with brick walls, original wood beams, high ceilings, and lots of sunlight. Per the listing, the top floor hosts a private rooftop terrace and there is a washer/dryer on hand.
