Mariska Hargitay’s vibrant UWS townhouse hits the market for $10.75M

The Law & Order:SVU star purchased the home in 2012

Law & Order: SVU actress Mariska Hargitay is looking to unload her Upper West Side penthouse for $10.75 million, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The star purchased the 7,000-square-foot home with her husband, actor Peter Hermann, in 2012 for $10.7 million (so, they clearly aren't looking to make profit off of the sale). Hermann told the WSJ that the family's needs have changed, which is why they are selling, however, they plan to remain on the Upper West Side.

According to the listing description, there are six levels that give way to five or six bedrooms (depending on how you configure it), six bathrooms with heated floors, and three powder rooms. The living room features double height ceilings, huge windows, and a gas fireplace, while a rear dining room that overlooks the garden sits nearby. There is an open kitchen that's befitted with vibrant yellow cabinets, sleek built-in appliances, a large island, and a breakfast nook.

A bright blue staircase connects the levels, but there is also an elevator for added convenience. The third level is where the master bedroom suite resides, as well as two walk-in closets, a sitting room, a full bathroom, and a half bathroom. The fourth and fifth floors accommodate the remaining bedrooms, more walk-in closets, a laundry room, and a terrace.

The home has a finished basement (with more storage space, of course), along with a rooftop den—or "penthouse" as the broker lingo calls it. The rooftop den can be utilized as a media room, guest room, writer's studio, or whatever else one has in mind. You also get two landscaped rooftop terraces.
