Tribeca plot with Maya Lin megamansion plans sells for $20M

The megamansion would measure 22,000 square feet making one of the largest Downtown Manhattan homes

A Tribeca lot that could see the rise of a Maya Lin-designed megamansion has sold for just under $20 million, the New York Post reports. The site, at 11 Hubert Street, is currently home to a three-story structure. After originally listing for $35 million in 2017, the site got a price cut earlier this year and was on the market for $19.995 million. The property reportedly sold for the asking price.

That price is accompanied by the megamansion plans drawn up by Lin and William Bialosky. The plans have already received the approval of the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission. The new owners will make a few minor changes to the Lin and Bialosky proposal, according to the Post, and these will need to be approved by the LPC as well.

Lin and Bialosky's plan calls for a sleek, six-story megamansion that measures 22,000 square feet. The house will come with a lavish suite of amenities including an 82-foot swimming pool, a four-car garage, a spa, a half basketball court, a retractable squash court, and 5,000 square feet of outdoor space.

The sale hasn't yet appeared in public record, but the Post notes that the buyers were repped by Compass. Construction plans haven't yet been filed with the city's Department of Buildings either.
