Boutique condo rising in Soho's historic Cast Iron district tops out

After a lengthy approval process, the eight-story building is nearly complete

It's been a decade in the making but the eight-story building at 150 Wooster Street has finally taken shape and is well on its way towards completion. In a photo captured from a tipster, you can see that the boutique condo building has topped out and is in the process of getting its facade installed.

It's been a lengthy process to get the project going. In 2015, the Landmarks Preservation Commission failed to approve an earlier design because they wanted steel integrated more at the building's base along with more detailed windows and a better resolution of the cornice. After returning to the drawing board, real estate investment firm KUB Capital was able to get revised plans approved with a little help from HTO-Architect (h/t YIMBY).

The building will consists of just six apartments, five of which are slated to be full-floor residences. A duplex penthouse will occupy the building's apex. Almost all of the apartments will feature their own private spaces and two retail spaces, measuring about 5,000-square-foot each, will sit at the base level of the building.

Sales are expected to launch sometime this fall with construction expected to wrap up shortly thereafter.
