Target sets its sights on Midwood for its next small-format store

This marks the brand's fifth small-format store planned for NYC

Target is expanding its New York City empire. The retail giant has announced that it will be opening a small-format store in Midwood, Brooklyn come the fall of 2018. The 37,700-square-foot store will stand at the corner of Kings Highway and East 14th Street—not all that far from the Target bordering Brooklyn College—and will cover two floors with a shopping experience arranged similarly to the brand's other small-format stores in NYC.

The store will be broken into sections including groceries; child care products, like apparel, toys, and sports equipment; men's and women's clothing and accessories; home goods; health, personal, and beauty products; and technology and entertainment products.

The brand has been on a tear through New York City of late, with five small-format stores poised to open or open in the five boroughs. Tribeca's Target opened in the fall and City Target at City Point opened in late January. Stores in Hell's Kitchen, the East Village, and Bensonhurst will follow by 2019.
