The condo has more outdoor space than it does indoors

Six years after it sold for $11.4 million, the penthouse at the Shigeru Ban-designed Metal Shutter Houses is back on the market, and this time it is asking $12.9 million. That amount is just a little under the $12.95 million it was asking in 2011, the second time it appeared on the market since this development was built.

The massive duplex penthouse is currently set up as a three-bedroom, four-bathroom home, but an additional study/den area on the lower level can easily double up as the fourth bedroom, according to the brokerbabble.

One of the standout features here is the 20-foot-tall glass wall that looks on to the terrace on the lower level. This wall can be opened up entirely to create a massive living room space that stretches both indoors and outdoors.

The master bedroom here is located on the upper level and comes with a private terrace on one end of the floor, and a balcony adjacent to the master bathroom, on the other end. The outdoor space doesn't end there.

To top it all, there's a spacious roof terrace which comes with a jacuzzi and views of the Hudson River. Overall the penthouse spans 3,319 square feet, of which nearly 2,000 square feet are outdoor space. As for the building, the Metal Shutter Houses come with just eight apartments spread out over its 11 floors, and the building is located on West 19th Street, between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues.
