Dattner's South Bronx affordable housing rental will ask from $864

The 12-story building will bring a total of 126 apartments to Concourse Village

Early next week the city will launch the affordable housing lottery for the Dattner Architects-designed building at East 162nd Street in the Concourse Village area in South Bronx.

The 12-story building features a total of 126 apartments, though only 88 units are being offered through the lottery. The rest are set aside for the formerly homeless. The building comes with a mix of studios, one, two, and three-bedrooms, though the affordable units here are predominantly studios and one-bedrooms.

Rents on the apartments start at $864 per month, and go up to $1,829 per month. The apartments are being offered to people making between 60 and 80 percent of the area median income which roughly translates to anywhere between $31,509 to $88,560, depending on the family and unit size.

Amenities future tenants can look forward to on site include a fitness center, a computer room, an on-site laundry facility, an on-site resident manager, and a landscaped community courtyard.

The project is being developed by non-profit organization, Services for the Underserved. Prospective residents have until January 17, 2018 to apply, and residents living within Bronx Community Board 4 will get a preference on half of the affordable units.
