New looks at Williamsburg's massive, waterfront office complex

Eventually this building will stand eight stories tall and offer up 500,000 square feet of space

Williamsburg's first ground-up office in over a decade is well on its way, and with that the developers Heritage Equity Partners and Rubenstein Partners have unveiled several new renderings of the eight-story structure rising at 25 Kent Avenue.

Designed by Gensler and HWKN, this massive structure essentially covers an entire city block, and is bounded by Kent and Wythe Avenues and North 13th and North 12th Streets.

As plans stand right now, the building will feature 350,000 square feet of office space, 70,000 square feet of retail, and 80,000 square feet of light manufacturing, all spread out over eight stories above ground, and one below.

The developers are looking to activate the ground-floor level of the building with a public plaza, an art space, and several shops and eateries. For tenants in the office building, there will be a roof deck, and private balconies on each floor. Work on the project will probably wrap up sometime towards the end of next year.

Recently, the city also put forth 25 Kent Avenue as a potential location for Amazon's HQ2.
