What $1,350 rents in NYC right now

See what $1,350 rents you in neighborhoods like Astoria, Harlem, and Jackson Heights

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a weekly column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various NYC neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today, we're looking at apartments renting around $1,350/month.

Core.

↑ In Jackson Heights, a light-filled alcove studio is seeking $1,350/month. The apartment has a simple layout with a kitchen that offers lots of cabinets as well as a large common area.

Skyline Group Real Estate.

↑ A renovated studio in the Bronx's Bedford Park neighborhood is renting for $1,350. The apartment spans 550 square feet and after a recent renovation, the kitchen offers stainless steel appliances and plenty of counter space. The living room appears large enough to partition a section off and create a sleeping alcove.

America Realty LLC.

↑ This newly renovated studio in Sunnyside measures just 400 square feet, but it's well appointed. There are refinished hardwood floors, a modern (but small) kitchen, and a refurbished bathroom. Rent is going for $1,350/month.

TAG Real Estate.

↑ If 200 square feet seems workable for you—or if you really want an apartment for under $1,500/month—then consider this micro studio in Harlem. There isn't much to the space, but the kitchenette does offer a new stove and a fridge that's not miniature, so that's something.

Sterling Realty.

↑ This 1.5 bedroom apartment in Astoria is a bit dark (some might say claustrophobic), but the good news is it's scheduled for a renovation. Otherwise, there's a windowed kitchen, sizable rooms, and hardwood floors throughout. This apartment will run you $1,350/month.

↑ For an even $1,300/month, rent this one-bedroom in Borough Park, which comes with hardwood floors, a modest kitchen, a renovated bathroom, and a decent amount of sunlight. The nearest train station—the D train's 55th Street stop—is only about two blocks away.
