Upper West Side duplex with pre-war flourishes, private terrace wants $950K

The duplex is part of a converted brownstone that just has five apartments

Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.

Part of a converted brownstone on the Upper West Side, this two-bedroom duplex is now on the market for $950,000. The apartment opens up on the lower level into the living/dining room. Here you can see many of the preserved details from when it was a townhouse including the exposed brick wall, the wood-burning fireplace, and the oak flooring.

The kitchen is also on this floor, and recently underwent a renovation. It now comes fitted with granite countertops, wooden cabinetry, and a host of appliances including a ceramic cooktop, a dishwasher, an oven, a microwave, and a refrigerator.

One of the apartment's two bedrooms is located on this lower level, but it's a bit on the narrower side, so as the brokerbabble says, it probably functions better as a study or a home office.

The second floor is accessed through a lovely spiral staircase in the living room; this floor for the most part is the master bedroom. There's also a relatively large bathroom which has a washer and dryer. One of the nicest features of the apartment is the private terrace, and this can be accessed through the upstairs bedroom.
